It's time to embark on a new adventure.
Welcome to Thailand
Thailand tempts travellers with a grin as golden as the region’s dazzling temples and tropical beaches. Thailand is friendly and food-obsessed, hedonistic and historical, sophisticated and curious, with a smile as golden as the region’s sparkling temples and tropical beaches.
A Bountiful Table
Thai cuisine, which is appreciated all over the world, encapsulates the essence of Thai culture: it is generous, warm, refreshing, and laid-back. Thai recipes rely on new, indigenous ingredients such as fragrant lemongrass, scorching chillies, and plump fish. Spicy, sweet, salty, and sour are the four basic flavours that make up a diverse national food.
Fields & Forests
Outside the crowded cities and towns lies Thailand’s rural heartland, a combination of rice paddies, tropical forests, and villages where life is governed by the agricultural clock. Forests and meadows meet toothy blue mountains in the north, which are adorned with silvery waterfalls and deep caverns with honeycombs.
The celestial realm is a close friend in this Buddhist culture, and religious devotion is colourful and widespread. Glistening temples and gilded Buddhas frame both the rural and urban landscapes. Ancient banyan trees are ceremoniously wrapped in holy fabric to honour the local spirits, and fortune-bringing shrines adorn both simple houses and mammoth malls.
Sand Between Your Toes
With a luxuriously long coastline (really, two coastlines) and over 1400 jungle-topped islands moored in blue waters, Thailand is a tropical retreat suited for anyone, whether hedonist or recluse, prince or beggar. The country’s shoreline is a huge playground, with activities galore wherever the water meets the sand.
